Niko Chocheli Niko Chocheli, who now resides Pennsylvania, is one of the foremost artists to emerge from the Republic of Georgia. The U.S. government, in fact, formally acknowledged Mr. Chocheli's artistic achievements and extraordinary talent. In 1997, Mr. Chocheli joined a prestigious list of great artists (such as Yo Yo Ma) who were granted lawful permanent residence because of their "extraordinary ability in the arts". His art is best described as classical, figurative, and representative combining the old master realism of such greats as Rembrandt and Rubens with the attention to line and color of the great eastern masters. His art also captures the colorful culture of the Republic of Georgia, and is known for its whimsical figures that appear in most of his paintings. His work has been shown throughout the world and is held in many prestigious collections. He is the illustrator of four books available through St. Vladimir's Seminary Press. Currently, Niko works as a freelance illustrator and offers master classes in art as well as private instruction.
