Angelo Ferrante An Attorney by training, Ferrante waited almost half a century before devoting his life to the arts. Not only is he a painter, but also a writer of poetry, fiction and play writing. The arts are all part of this artist. He started with some drawing with New Jersey painter Michael Madigan at his studio. Ferrante soon dropped the pencil and picked up the brush and began with oils and acrylics. Since the very first time he picked up a brush, nothing has stopped him. Angelo is passionate about painting, spending entire weekends on location to bring his unique perspective of the world to life on his canvases. You will find Angelo on the streets of New York City, easel in front, brush in hand, a sketch book close by along with a camera for reference. Ferrante starts most of his works ‘en plein air’ and will finish them in his studio. City Street scenes dominate his current work, but the artist does not limit his subject matter to the urban scene. Landscapes and even abstract images are fodder for this creative mind. Ferrante is currently working on a series of abstract paintings that are intense with color and movement - not unlike his city-scapes.
