Tina Greco: Greco has always enjoyed working with her hands and creating something from virtually nothing. It didn’t matter if it was a set of basic ingredients that turned into a gourmet meal, or playing in the dirt while tending her garden. This tactile sense brought her to the medium of clay. She recounts thinking: this is it! From that moment on, she was a sculptor. Her sculptures are carved out from a solid block of clay and reflect an emotion that was present within me the moment my hands touch it. She presents these emotions by creating the human form in a variety of expressive states. She works very quickly to “stay in the moment,” and never works with a model; therefore, many of her sculptures are unplanned and spontaneous. She has worked in this figurative world for more than 20 years, and has developed a body of work that is a chronology of emotions. She says “I hope as you view my sculptures you will connect to the emotion each piece is speaking to you.” Tina studied at several artists though her career, most notably Laura Heim and Robert Jenkins Jr. She has studied at BCC and MCC, been included in multiple Ellarslie Open Juried Exhibition. She is a member of Trenton Artist Workshop Association (TAWA). We are excited to have Tina with us at BOI’s of New Hope.
