Marisa Khachaturian:

Khachaturian works based on her female life experience, self evaluation, reflection, visual influences and social relationships. Visual and textual journaling and are a large part of her creative process. She works primarily with the human form, specifically the female figure. She draws from physical and emotional experience when working in the creation of realistic images. It is the interaction of mind, body and social environment that inspire Marisa’s art.
Marisa is a practicing artist in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She works predominantly in charcoal and oil paint. In addition, she is a teaching artist at the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, New Jersey. She is a graduate of NYU’s Art Education masters program and holds a Certificate of Endorsement for teaching art in the state of New Jersey, and did her undergraduate work at Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
