We will miss you Ron.
Ron Lambert: spent his childhood running in the fields and swimming in the ponds of Pocomoke City, Maryland. Always drawn to the water Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy traveling to places such as Australia, Thailand, Guam, Hong Kong, the Philippines and many other exotic ports. The water was always so mystical and romantic to him; he worked on clam boats in the Mid-Atlantic region of the ocean as well as crab boats and fishing boats in the Bearing Sea as well as off the coast of Alaska. Ron received a B.A. degree in studio art from Salisbury University graduating with honors. The celebration of life around him was the strongest motivation to paint with a poetic use of color and expressive brushwork. The awareness of beauty, a beauty that incorporates the discipline of classical naturalistic drawing with a colorful impressionist pallet. His influences included the French Impressionists, the American Impressionists most notably Edward Potthash, the Gloucester painters Emile Gruppe and Charles Movali. His later studies were with John Ebersberger who introduced Ron to the color of Henry Hensche as well as classical figure drawing and the teachings of Cedric Egeli. He was an active member of The Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association (Mapapa). Combining both plein air painting with studio work kept him fresh and focused on the craftsmanship of making good art. Ron could be found most often standing someplace outside - rain, shine, snow, bugs, whatever nature had to offer, Ron would capture it.
