Carol Magnatta: Plein air or studio work, it all works for Carol Magnatta - and it is far from work. Simply put, Carol loves to paint. Magnatta has been known to drive for miles searching the county for the next perfect spot. And what does not work today may be just right tomorrow. Carol starts most of her landscapes from Plein air, but does not hesitate to continue working in her studio. Magnatta has been painting for 20 years. She started as an interior decorator and has since migrated to painting full time. Since changing over to be a painter, she has been a student of the traditional painting styles, and practices the traditional methods of art daily. She relies heavily on the classics and masters to help teach her. She practices by doing figure sketches, in both pencil/crayon and oil. She takes her subjects from life and will happily paint anything in front of her. Not that she does not spend countless hours looking for the perfect landscape, or setting up still-life scenes, or arranging models; Carol enjoys painting all images. Magnatta puts as much thought into the composition as she does into the execution.
