Gregory (George) Tatarinov

1914 - 1971
Gregory Pavlovich Tatarnikov:

Mr. Tatarinov was born in Sratov, Russia and studied at The Art Studio of National Creation before being pulled into World War II. Among his teachers were the prominent masters Fogel and Alexey Zaitzev (from Academy of Art in St. Petersburg, Russia).

During the so-called Great Patriotic War (WWII 1939 - 1945) Tatarnikov served in the Russian Navy’s Baltic Fleet. At that time, he made posters, drawings for the newspapers, portraits of military leaders, war heroes, and other military scenes.

After the war George Tatarinov was a member of the Artist's Union of the USSR. He was a regular participant in a variety of exhibitions that took place in the cities of Leningrad, Moscow and elsewhere throughout the USSR, notably the “SOVIET RUSSIA” Exhibition, Moscow, 1960.

The works of this artist are in various Russian and International museums and private collections.
